| Over het wijnhuis | Château Smith Haut Lafitte heeft een geschiedenis van 800 jaar in Bordeaux. Het was Du Boscq die in 1365 de eerste wijnstokken plantte op een met kiezel bedekt plateau genaamd Lafitte. Een paar honderd jaar later nam George Smith het landgoed over en gaf het zijn naam plus de naam van het plateau mee. Sinds 1990 wordt Château Smith Haut Lafitte gerund door de familie Cathiard. |

Feels a bit tense, but it does have texture too so it’s not austere or harsh, just strong. Really well built, delivering power no doubt, but keeping a soft juiciness underneath. Very medicinal - clove, liquorice, unmistakable Cabernet speaking here, but feels clean and well worked. Nothing sticking out too much with body, plushness and cool freshness.
