| Over het wijnhuis | Trapiche is opgericht in 1883 met een kleine wijngaard aan de voet van de Andes, genaamd El Trapiche. Begonnen als lokale onderneming is Trapiche inmiddels uitgegroeid tot wijnhuis van formaat met ruim 1.200 hectare aan wijngaarden. Daarnaast werken ze samen met meer dan 300 wijnboeren in de omgeving, om wijn van de beste terroirs uit Mendoza te kunnen aanbieden. |
| Wijngaard en regio | Afkomstig uit een wijngaard in Gualtallary in Tupungato in Mendoza. De wijngaarden liggen op 1307 meter hoogte. De bodem is zanderig met 30% kalkrijk grind. De gemiddelde leeftijd van de stokken is 12 jaar. |
| Vinificatie | De gisting vindt plaats in betonnen vaten op een gecontroleerde temperatuur van 26 tot 28 graden. Daarna rijpt de wijn gedurende 18 maanden in nieuw Frans eiken, gevolgd door een flesrijping van 12 maanden. |

The palate features fine, slightly reactive tannins with fruit flavors, presenting a red with considerable depth." - Vinous "The single-vineyard Malbec 2019 Terroir Series Malbec Finca Ambrosía is from one of the top three terroirs from the 80 growers with whom they work in Mendoza, a property that was planted 12 years ago in Gualtallary at 1,300 meters in altitude. The grapes ripened thoroughly in the cool 2019 vintage, and the wine fermented in concrete and matured in barriques and foudres for 18 months; it reached 15.1% alcohol and retained some three grams of unfermented sugar. Despite the high ripeness, the wine shows a bit shy, austere and subtle. The palate is ample, round, lush and dense, with concentration, powerful and fine tannins and a dry finish.
